Rozana Huq
Rozana Huq writes poetry, short stories and fiction. Her work has been published in magazines and journals and featured in a number of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú broadcasts. Born in Bangladesh but living in Northern Ireland for over 20 years, she takes her inspiration from both cultures. Having recently completed her PhD in Human Resource Management from Queen's University Belfast, she is now looking forward to have more time to pursue her writing.

The quiet country lane goes all the way,
through forests, over the hills
and far away.
Ìý
How many
footprints
have walked your way?
Ìý
How many
footprints
large, medium and small?
Ìý
The large and medium
footprints
they may be gone today.
Ìý
But, the small
footprints,
they still remember walking your way.
Ìý
They have the memories
of yesterday.
Ìý
They remember the smell of the freshly, cut grass,
and of the beauty of the golden buttered flowers,
daffodils, dandelions and many others.
Ìý
They hold these picturesque scene,
in their minds.
Ìý
Their parents who held their hands
they may be gone, but
the sweet memories of walking down the lane,
still lingers on.
Ìý
Now, the small
footprints
have taken their parents’ place.
Ìý
They hold their offspring’s hands
and walk down the
old memory lane of these forgotten lands.
