Jody Latham plays Billy
A member of City's Football Academy, Billy is dedicated to the core; but while visiting the club's sponsors to be kitted out, Billy is caught stealing an extra pair of trainers, a foolish act that then leads to a life of crime.

"An up and coming professional footballer, Billy's very good and has a great career mapped out for him if he keeps himself committed to the game," says Shameless star Jody Latham.

"But unfortunately he gets sidetracked by friends who encourage him on the wrong route. He steals some trainers from the warehouse where he is supplied with kits, and he gets thrown out of the team.Ìý
"As a result of that he turns to drug dealing and that's when the story unfolds – which is quite sad really," says Jody. Ìý
"Billy almost risks losing everything and a lot of bad things happen which wakes him up, but it's up to Billy whether he decides to take the right path.

"I can't play football at all," confesses the 23-year-old Burnley born actor whose credits include Holby City and Dominic Savage's When I Was 12. Ìý
"I enjoy watching it, but I am not very good at playing but the guys in the team around me, make me look good!" he laughs. Ìý
"How does this project compare Shameless? It's quite a lot different, which is why I was very interested in doing it. "

Jody admits the attention fame brings can be difficult at times. "People want pictures not autographs anymore," says Jody. "It can be embarrassing and at times annoying, but it comes with the territory really."
