Darrel has been bullied out of home by his mum's lesbian lover. With nowhere to stay he ends up kipping on Mike's sofa. When he hears that Shelley is also homeless he doesn't waste any time suggesting they get a place together. Darrel is hoping that they'll be more than just flatmates.

"We delve much deeper into Darrel's life in series two and get to know about him personally, some of it bad and some of it good," Chris says.

"Although Darrel's mum has left him homeless, his estranged father shows up and you also get a glimmer of the soft spot Shelley holds for him."

Chris has previously appeared in Coronation Street and Doctors. He recently starred in Being Sold and was nominated for an RTS North West Award for Best Performance in a Comedy for Lunch Monkeys series one.
