The rise and rise of Camila Cabello!

Camila Cabello is heading back to the UK to perform at on the 22nd October - and we're hoping she'll be bringing a bit of the Havana sunshine with her. Whatever the weather, we seriously can't WAIT for her performance.

It's been a huge, eventful year for the star - let us help you catch up with what's gone down...

After two successful albums, Camila and the Fifth Harmony girls parted ways last December, four years after they were formed on US X Factor.

It now seems that Camila could be onto an absolute stormer with her second solo single Havana, which at No.3 (and climbing) is currently a contender for the UK No.1 - and is racing up charts across the globe.

Camila first recorded music away from the group when she scored major hits with her Shawn Mendes duet, I Know What You Did Last Summer in 2015 and Bad Things with Machine Gun Kelly in 2016.

Fifth Harmony finally announced that breakaway star Camila had quit in December last year.

Reaching for creative freedom

Inspiration can strike in the strangest of places.

Later on, Camila explained that her decision to leave was based on wanting the freedom to chase her creative goals. She told Seventeen magazine: "Fifth Harmony wasn't the maximum expression of me individually. My fans are really going to know me from the music I'm writing. My goal is to be brave and open up my soul."

Fifth Harmony (Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei) have remained fairly tight lipped about their former bandmate, but have since re-signed to Epic records (where Camila also has a solo deal) as a four-piece.

What happened next?

They all carried on with the important business of making pop music, of course! Camila was first out the gate with her solo single, Crying In The Club, which hit No.12 in the UK. Fifth Harmony teamed up with rapper Gucci Mane for their first release as a four, Down.

All in all, 2017 has been a MASSIVE year for Miss Cabello. In addition to recording debut album The Hurting The Healing The Loving, she has managed to squeeze in teaming up with Cashmere Cat, Pitbull and Major Lazer for collaborations. Phew!

On 22 October, she joins Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Liam Payne and The Vamps at the Radio 1 Teen Awards, where the UK's most inspirational teenagers in the UK will be awarded for their achievements. We predict there will be an army of "camilizers" (as she calls her fans) in the house, or tuning in to watch and listen online.

Forget "crying in the club," we're going to be "screaming with excitement at the awards show."
