Super Movers is an exciting partnership between the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú & Premier League which helps primary teachers inspire children to become active through their school day to enhance learning. During the opening Premier League game tonight between European champions Liverpool and Norwich, a maths teacher tells her daughter Jenny to clap in a mathematical manner to keep active. Jenny claps once during the 1st minute of the match, then claps twice during the 2nd minute, then claps three times during the 3rd minute and so on until Jenny claps 90 times during the 90th and final minute of the match. Assuming no extra time, how many times will Jenny have clapped by the end of the 90 minute match?

You have to add 1 + 2 + 3 + ... + 88 + 89 + 90.

In maths, 1, 2, 3, 4 etc is an arithmetic sequence going up by 1 each time. You can use the summation formula for an arithmetic series or spot that there there are 45 groups of 91 i.e 45 x 91 = 4095.
