33-year-old drama graduate Mel talks about her unusual occupation...
How did you get started in tissue donation?
I tried my hand at embalming, before seeing an advert in a paper for a job in Wrexham Tissue Bank. I went for an unofficial tour and decided that鈥檚 where I鈥檇 like to work.
What attracted you to the job?
It wasn鈥檛 going to be a 鈥榬un of the mill鈥� 9-5 office job; there was lots of driving, and it was a physical, hands-on job that was interesting and mind provoking
Tell us a surprising fact about tissue donation鈥�
I was surprised that cryopreserved tissue can be stored for up to 10 years before it鈥檚 used.
What are your interests outside of work?
Snowboarding, adrenalin sports, scuba diving and holidays.
Did you think you鈥檇 stay in the job?
Yes forever, but then I also expected to have my 'first car' forever - I was 21 and naive!

Where do you see yourself in five years鈥� time?
Earning millions (obviously not in Tissue Services) and living a 鈥楻ichard Branson鈥� lifestyle.
