Can an equilateral triangle be covered by two smaller equilateral triangles?

The longest segment in an equilateral triangle is one of the sides. So a smaller triangle will cover at most one vertex. This means that it is not possible to cover all three vertices of the larger triangle using only two smaller triangles.
