Moladh na Maighdinn
Poet Domhnall Uilleam Stewart takes on A 'Mhaighdean, one of Scotland's most remote and beautiful mountains, and writes a contemporary poem in tribute to Duncan Ban MacIntyre.
Da bheinn, da bh脿rd ach da cheud gu leth bliadhna eatarra . Beinn Dorain ann an Earraghaidheal agus A' Mhaighdinn air taobh siar Rois; na beanntan agus na b脿ird D貌mhnall Ban Mac an t-Saoir agus D貌mhnall Uilleam Sti霉bhart. Tha Sti霉bhart a' gabhail air e貌las a chuir air A' Mhaighdinn , a' sreap agus a' sealg ach 's e an d霉bhlan as motha rannan molaidh a chuir an c猫ill a' leantainn eisimpleir Dhunnachaidh Bh脿n air Beinn Dorain.
Two mountains, two poets and 250 years of changing attitudes to the Highland landscape are the elements of this intriguingly different film. The mountains are Beinn Dorain in Argyll and A' Mhaighdinn in the Fisherfields 'wilderness' of Wester Ross. The poets are Duncan Ban MAcIntyre and Domhnall UIlleam Stewart who takes on both the physical challenges of A' Mhaighdinn, one of Scotland's most remote and beautiful Munros and the even more considerable creative challenge involved in writing a contemporary poem in tribute to Duncan Ban's 18th century masterpiece 'In praise of Beinn Dorain'.
