Raymond and Eileen's relationship takes a dramatic and unexpected turn. Leyla makes a shocking discovery about Adeeb's internet usage. Scarlett receives some heartbreaking news.

Murray puts his foot in it with Eileen, letting her know 'something' is happening tonight but not what. Antennae twitching, Eileen returns to the pub to overhear part of a conversation between Annie and Raymond. This mistakenly leads her to believe that Raymond is planning to propose to her. Panicking, Eileen confides in Joanne and finds that she's talking herself around to the idea. Returning to the pub, Eileen is confronted with the baby shower surprise and, despite herself, is disappointed at her mistaken expectation. Opening up to Raymond about her upset and her expectation about what tonight was for, Raymond feels compelled to propose and Eileen accepts. Raymond is ecstatic and demands Annie get the champagne out from the cellar. But Raymond can see Eileen isn't in it for the right reasons and realising her acceptance is one of settlement rather than love, he doesn't announce it to the pub. The engagement is off. Examining their odd relationship, Eileen is sorry that she can't make Raymond truly happy, despite the obvious love they have for each other, it just isn't enough. As they agree to continue as they are, it seems only heartache can possibly lie ahead.

Leyla pushes Michael to have a 'birds and the bees' chat with Adeeb but he is reluctant, embarrassed and keeps putting it off. Taking matters into her own hands Leyla tries to talk to Adeeb about it but he cringes and she pleads that he talk to Michael instead. But both Leyla and Michael are wrong footed when Adeeb comes clean, he wasn't looking at porn but at flights to Iraq - he wants to live there. Leyla is hurt by this but also feels deeply saddened for her son and the fact that he feels so out of place at home that he's thinking of leaving her. She counsels him about feelings of belonging and asks that he consider a holiday to Iraq instead where they can test things out. Adeeb agrees and the flights are booked.

Murray is encouraged by Fraser to do something about Gina's affair. Confront her and dump her, or win her back, but doing nothing is not an option. Energised into action, he seduces Gina and proves to her he can be exciting and dynamic too. Gina is delighted to feel wanted by Murray and they are loved up as they go to the baby shower. Jack is there and feels jealous to see Gina and Murray close. Gina feels terrible to be caught between two men, the guilt of the affair starting to put her under too much strain.

Meanwhile, Gina counsels Jimmy on his relationship with Scarlett. He commandeers the Oyster to put on a romantic night but little does he know Scarlett has just found out there's a high chance she might have cancer. Scarlett is bowled over and emotional - almost telling Jimmy the dreadful news she received that day - but his speech about how much he loves her stops her in her tracks. Instead she swallows her fears and counts her blessings, such as they are.

Andy wants Ruth to fulfill her promise of going to see a psychiatrist with him. She is unable to do so because Eilidh again falls ill and she refuses to do anything other than put her child first. Andy grudgingly accepts this but the distance between them is growing.
