Another busy morning in the Brodie household as Michael and Leo prepare for Leo's hearing. When everyone has left the house, Conor stays behind messing with Leo's kit bag in which he finds a joint and some cannabis. Conor catches up with Adeeb and asks him if he wants a smoke, teasing him for being such a goody two shoes. Adeeb bows to the peer pressure and smokes it. Meanwhile, Leyla discovers that Ruth is intending to sign Eilidh over into Gina's care and also that Eilidh was sick last week when Stella was babysitting. Before Leyla can put two and two together a panicked Conor arrives telling her Adeeb is sick. Leyla is furious when she discovers the boys have taken drugs and is even angrier when Conor won't tell her the truth about where they came from. Things get worse for Conor and Adeeb when Michael and Leo find out - Michael reads them the riot act and Leo pressurises them into staying quiet. Leyla spots Adeeb's uneasiness around Leo and is immediately suspicious. When the house is clear, Leyla searches Leo's things and finds the stolen prescription pads and painkillers made out to false patient names.

Thinking he's in the clear, Leo meets up with Hayley and they decide to celebrate his compensation payout. Their passion is interrupted by Leyla who accuses Leo of being an addict and breaking into the surgery. Leo counters that if she tells Michael about the drugs, he'll tell him that she went to the MPs. Michael arrives home and Leyla immediately tells him that Leo was responsible for the cannabis. Leo denies it and follows up with his information about the MPs. Michael turns on Leyla, accusing her of not knowing the meaning of 'family'.

Michael tries to get things back on track and has a meeting with Nick but it's pretty clear his family problems are weighing heavily on his mind. Back at the surgery, Leyla confronts Michael with the news that Leo was behind the break-in, but when Leo arrives it becomes apparent that Michael already knew. Leyla is astonished that Michael let Ruth take the fall for Leo. Michael begs Leyla not to tell anyone. Leyla isn't sure what to do until she bangs into Stella and convinces her to come clean to Gina about Eilidh - if Ruth wasn't around when Eilidh was sick then Ruth wasn't responsible! Leyla then forces Michael to pull some strings and have Eilidh seen by a specialist to which he concedes. Michael also goes with a hopeful Gina to see Ruth. They deliver the news that Ruth never harmed Eilidh thinking Ruth will now want to come home. But their news has the opposite effect - Ruth believes that if she was convinced that she was harming Eilidh then there must have been something wrong with her in the first place. She's staying in the hospital. Scott is all for cancelling his move with Victor to stay in Shieldinch with Gina but Gina dishes out some tough love - he can't put his life on hold forever. Back at home Leyla wants Leo out but Michael thinks he still needs looked after. Leyla cannot believe that Michael still chooses his brother over her, despite all he has done.

Theresa visits Robbie, telling him that the time has come for him to start repaying his debt to her. When a package arrives at the salon Hayley is suspicious and Robbie has to work hard to put her off the scent. Robbie becomes increasingly worried that he is getting involved in something illegal and begs Theresa to tell him what's in the package. Enjoying watching him squirm, Theresa keeps quiet. Eventually curiosity overcomes Hayley and she opens the package only to find it is a pack of support tights! Later, Theresa reveals to Robbie that today was just a test to see if he would play nice. She warns him that next time she calls upon him, it won't be support tights, and some of her friends are not to be messed with.

Nicole meets Nick in the caf茅 in the morning and tries to be friendly, but, wary of what happened last time they met, Nick is quite curt with her. She catches up with him later and calls him on his attitude. He pours cold water on the idea that they can ever be anything more than friends. Nicole replies quite coldly that she has enough friends before storming off. Later, after Nicole has had a bust up with Leyla, Nick sees her feeling down and joins her. Nicole tells him her problems and Nick soon relaxes. Nicole thanks him for letting her sound off, and promises that she won't pursue him anymore.
