The Vial family - Maria, her ex-husband Andr茅 and their son Manuel - are the white French owners of a West African coffee plantation, struggling to retain their workers who are all fleeing from the threat of a revolution just days before the harvest. Single-minded Maria doesn't want to leave the country she loves and recruits more workers. But unbeknown to her, Andr茅 is attempting to secure their safe passage out of the country before the revolution puts them all in danger.
