Senghenydd - Britain's Worst Mining Disaster

To mark the hundredth anniversary of Britain's worst mining disaster, some of the ancestors of the 439 miners that died at Senghenydd attempt to discover why the tragedy occurred.

One hundred years ago to the day, 439 miners were killed in a massive underground explosion at the Universal colliery in Senghenydd. On the centenary of the disaster, some of the descendants of those killed go on a journey to discover exactly what caused this tragedy, who was to blame and how their ancestors died. Narrated by Roy Noble.
