Spencer and Weir

Property series. Joe meets a couple who have just bought two adjoining empty cottages in rural Lincolnshire and plan on turning the two properties into one house.

Joe Crowley offers invaluable advice for viewers looking to rescue a house for themselves and finds out more about our housing stock, our heritage and why we should be both reinventing and preserving Britain's Empty Homes. The show features ambitious renovations and inspirational transformations, but also highlights the work carried out by the UK's Empty Property Officers, whose job it is to get unoccupied homes back into use.

In this episode, Joe meets Josh Spencer and Samantha Weir who have just bought two adjoining empty cottages in rural Lincolnshire. They are keen to share their plans to turn the two properties into one house, on a very tight budget - and keen to get as much guidance as they can. To give Josh and Samantha tips and inspiration, Joe introduces them to a couple who have converted two similar size cottages into a spectacular family home, on an equally tight budget.

Joe also learns how the renovation of a former town hall near Newcastle will provide a home for the new owners, and create a hub for the local community and businesses, and we follow Empty Property Officer Katrina Hurton on her mission to save abandoned houses in Maidstone, Kent.
