  Stand-up comic and writer Tim McGarry embarks on a two-part journey for 麻豆官网首页入口 Northern Ireland to discover more about his Ulster Scots identity.

  Produced and directed by The Hole in the Wall Gang, Tim McGarry鈥檚 Ulster Scots Journey traces the links between Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland with plenty of laughs along the way.

  In true McGarry style, the self-confessed sceptic questions if there鈥檚 any Ulster Scots blood in him? He also asks if Ulster Scots is truly a language.听

  Tim is surprised with some of his findings as he traces his family roots and weaves his way through the history of Ulster.

  He said: 鈥淚 had great fun working on these programmes, meeting lots of interesting people and finding out some history I knew nothing about.听 And I am happy that I am at least a wee bit Ulster Scot which is just as well really otherwise the programme would have been ruined. I鈥檝e been known to take the hand out of the Ulster Scots language but as viewers will see one true speaker puts me right.鈥�

  Among the well-known landmarks visited by Tim during his journey are Carrickfergus and its castle, Bangor Abbey and Dunluce Castle.

  The series offers a unique focus on what sets Northern Ireland apart from other places with plenty of fascinating historical facts, frequently used recognisable words and information to change perceptions of even the most sceptical.
