Ballynahinch is an important market town in the middle of County Down, a place that got going in the mid-17th century when George Rawdon bought the land from Patrick McCartan. And now this history is told in a new book, DVD and exhibition in the museum in Downpatrick. Danielle Smyth from the museum was involved in this major project right from the start as was local man Patsy Toman and Anne Marie visits them on the bustling Church Street.

The book is called Ballynahinch, Island Town - it's free and you can get copies at in Downpatrick - and the exhibition continues there as well.

Glarryford Young Farmers' Club at 70

Glarryford Young Farmers' Club at 70
70 years ago the local minister in Glarryford, County Antrim, thought it was a good idea for young people from the area to socialise and learn about rural life in their own place and so the Young Farmers Club was born.  They’re still going strong and getting ready to perform one of their favourite plays ‘A Quare Gunk’ next weekend at the Young Farmers Hall in Glarryford. Peter Alexander plays Willie, one of the brothers, and Mervyn Dickey is one of the producers of the comedy and they join us live from our Ballymena studio.
