Human trafficking in North Cyprus
People leave their country of origin for many reasons – looking for a better life in a new location. People trafficking has been a problem all over Europe for years – in addition to this they estimate that thousands of women have been trafficked from their homes and they are involved in different industries against their will. There are no laws and rules in north of Cyprus to deal with trafficking people. How are they dealing with this and what is on the horizon? Anne Lundon reports from north Cyprus.
Neo-eisimeileachd ann an Venice
Fhad 's a tha muinntir na h-Alba a' dèanamh deiseil airson referendum air neo-eisimeileachd, tha cuid de mhuinntir sgìre Venice iad fhèin ag iarraidh briseadh air falbh bhon Eadailt. Le eachdraidh de chòrr is 1,000 bliadhna aca mar dhùthaich fa leth ro 1797, tha mòran dhen bheachd gu bheil iad a' pà igheadh cus ann an cìsean agus nach eil iad a' faotainn seirbheisean bhon staid a tha ma gu leòr. A-rèir aon phà ipear-naidheachd, tha taic airson neo-eisimeileachd a-measg an t-sluaigh aig 70%, ach tha luchd-iomairt Indipendenza Veneta a' tomhas gu bheil e nas fhaisge air 30%.
Independence in Venice
As the people of Scotland prepare for a referendum for independence, many people in Venice want to break away from Italy. With a history of being an independent nation for 1,000 years before 1797, many are of the opinion that they pay too much in taxes and they do not receive services from the state that are good enough. According to one paper, 70% of the population support independence, but the campaigners Indipendenza Veneta believe that this figure is closer to 30%.
