Casg-breith ann an Èirinn a Tuath

Chan eil e idir ceadaichte do bhoireannaich casg-breith a bhith aca ann an Èirinn a Tuath  – cho fad agus nach eil am beatha ann an cunnart. Tha seo air a bhith na chuspair caran connspaideach, gu h-àraidh bho dh’fhosgail Ionad Marie Stopes ann am Beul Feirste bho chionn còrr is bliadhna. Tha leth chiad millean boireannach a’ casg breith gach bliadhna air feadh an t-saoghail agus seach nach eil e ceadaichte an Èirinn, tha e coltach gu bheil daoine a lorg dòighean eile son seo a dheànamh – a’ siubhal a Shasainn no a’ faighinn drogaichean iomchaidh air-loidhne – saoil a-rèist a bheil beachdan air atharrachadh bho dh’fhosgail an ionad?

Abortion in Northern Ireland

In October 2012, the Marie Stopes Sexual Health Clinic opened in Belfast providing terminations within Northern Ireland's current legal framework. Abortions can be carried out only to preserve the life of the mother or if continuing the pregnancy would have other serious, permanent physical or mental health effects. With legal limitations facing women who seek abortions, figures suggest that over 1,000 women annually travel to Britain to undergo terminations while many more purchase abortion pills online. Has public perception changed since the clinic opened?

Bochdainn sa Ghearmailt

Tha a' Ghearmailt aithnichte mar dhùthaich mhòr bheairteach a th' air cuid dha na duilgheadasan eaconamach a dh'fhuiling Breatann tharais air na bliadhnaichean a sheachnadh. Ged-thà, 's ann a tha rannsachadh oifigeil sa Ghearmailt a-nis a' sealltainn gu bheil aon duine às gach sianar fo chunnart a bhith ann am bochdainn. Sin barrachd na an Fhraing, an Òlaind, no Poblachd nan Seic. Dè tha ag adhbharachadh seo ged-thà, is cò tha fulang ri linn? Tha Darren Linc air a bhith a’ rannsachadh na cùise.

Poverty in Germany

Germany is often heralded as a relative economic success story, having avoided many of the financial difficulties which have blighted the UK economy in recent years. However, official research shows that one in six Germans are at risk of poverty - more than France, the Netherlands, or the Czech Republic. This week, Darren Laing asks why that is the case, and who is affected.
