Peter Bowker grew up in Hazel Grove, Stockport in the north west of England.

听

He went to school at Marple Hall before moving on to Leeds University where he studied English and Philosophy.

Peter听also听studied teacher training听at Leeds Polytechnic and was a student on听the University of East Anglia's creative writing course.

Peter Bowker's drama work includes Eric and Ernie which won Best Single Drama & Best Writer at the RTS Awards in 2012. Peter also won Best Writer in the BAFTA Craft Awards for this programme.
