Commonwealth Games
Sally and Diane are in Glasgow for the final countdown to the Commonwealth Games. There are stirring, patriotic hymns to get you in the mood and the Songs of Praise family face their greatest challenge yet, as water-phobic Dad draws on his faith to try and swim like a triathlete.

Interviewees and Contributors
Sarah Crease
Sarah hails from Bournemouth, and has beaten hundreds of thousands of others to become a volunteer – or a "Clydesider" to give her official title - for Glasgow 2014. She was a volunteer for London Olympics too, and is a big sports fan. Sally reveals to Sarah what her actual role will be at the Games, and takes her to meet the family who have offered to give her a place to stay for free whilst she's in Glasgow.

The Begg Family & More Than Gold
Karen, Richard, and their three children live just outside Glasgow and have volunteered to take part in the Homestay programme run by Christian organisation More Than Gold. The scheme finds local residents who have a spare room, and matches them with athletes' families and volunteers who need a place to stay. The project is open to those of every faith and none. The Beggs are putting up Sarah Crease while the Games take place; and whilst Karen cooks for everyone, she explains to Sally why hospitality is at the heart of her Christian faith.

The Corr Family
Sam, Martin, Charlotte, Sophie and Aimee are a Catholic family from Essex. Earlier this year they responded to our appeal for a family to take part in some of our programmes over the Summer. Songs of Praise have set them a series of challenges to explore how their Christian faith is woven into their lives. This week, Martin, who has a fear of water, draws on his faith as he tries to complete a triathlete distance swim.
