Interviewees

Pete Scott
Pete is a Geordie singer and song-writer who sings in dialect. He has been performing in the folk clubs of the North East since the 70s and has performed with high profile acts such as Lindisfarne and Janis Ian.聽He is one of the North East's top singer/songwriters.聽A lot of his songs are fun, including a modern day version of 'The Blaydon Races' he was asked to write聽two years ago, by 麻豆官网首页入口 Newcastle.聽But behind the toe-tapping tunes lies Pete's story of the loss of his wife three years ago and the role that his faith has played in coping with her death.聽For more information about Pete, see .

Garry Hogg
Gary presents a 'Geordie Hour' on Radio Tyneside - the North East's local hospital radio, which is available online so Geordies all over the world can listen. He plays music and songs by local singers & bands, songs written by local people and anything that celebrates the North East.聽聽 Gary also draws Geordie cartoons and has written a series of comedy monologues entitled 'Fairly Truthful Tales', and also a 'Fairly Truthful Guide to Geordie'.聽For more information about Gary, see .

Nina Laurie
Nina Laurie is a rower from who has found rowing a life-changing experience!聽Nina took up rowing 7 years ago as a distraction from the pressures of work and has never looked back.聽Nina feels a deep connection with the River Tyne and its industrial past, and being out in the boat is more than just a past-time for her 鈥� it's where she senses the enormity of God.聽She is also a participant in the annual 鈥� a 16 mile boat race from Newburn to Tynemouth.

Carole Parkins
Carole is the Project Manager of Walking With, a Wallsend-based project helping asylum seekers and refugees.聽The project is based at St Luke's Church and is supported by many of the local churches.聽The project offers food, English lessons, help with filling in forms, and friendship.聽They help immigrants from many parts of the world, including Iran, Sri Lanka, Russia, Pakistan, Albania, Algeria, and Afghanistan.聽See Walking With's Facebook page .

Professor Tom McLeish
 and is a passionate believer that science and faith are perfectly compatible bedfellows!聽Tom has a particular interest in St Bede, one of the North East's famous saints, who was a scientist and mathematician as well as a monk and a church historian.聽Tom's interview was filmed in St Paul's Church, Jarrow 鈥� the area of the North East where St Bede lived and worked in the 7th century.
