Artists from all corners of the globe gather in Dublin for an extraordinary event in celebration of Nobel Peace Prize recipient and leader of the National League for Democracy in Burma, Aung San Suu Kyi. Artists from the worlds of music, cinema, art, and dance take to the stage to perform in the presence of a woman whose fight for democracy saw her placed under house arrest in Burma for more than two decades.

Among them are iconic performers and activists such as Bob Geldof, Damien Rice, Angelique Kidjo, Vanessa Redgrave and Riverdance. Electric Burma also features a very special live performance of "Toast To Freedom," the new and exclusive commemorative song celebrating the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International. The unique multi-artist rendition will feature an all-star band led by the song's writer, veteran guitarist/producer Carl Carlton. "It will be a great honor perform 'Toast To Freedom' for Aung Saan Su Kyi," said Carlton. "She stands for everything I believe in and fight and write for. She is not only a guiding light but a voice for every soul in this universe in the name of human rights. She is the spirit of 'Toast To Freedom'. Electric Burma marks Aung San Suu Kyi's first trip to Europe in more than two decades and her acceptance in person of the 1991 Nobel Peace Prize which she received while under house arrest. The prize had previously been accepted on her behalf by her late husband, Michael Aris, and her sons, Kim and Alexander Aris. More than just a celebration of Aung San Suu Kyi's remarkable life's work, Electric Burma also stands as an important opportunity to echo the powerful message that human rights matter.
