Splaoid nan Ciobar
Documentary following the Lewis and Harris sheep producers group as they attend Scotsheep, a bi-annual event organised by the National Sheep Association.
Scotsheep is a bi-annual event organised by the National Sheep Association which marks the significance of an industry which remains key to rural life throughout Scotland. In early June 2014 the scene is set at Quixwood farm, in the lush green fields of Berwickshire.
Among over a thousand visitors expected to attend are The Lewis and Harris sheep producers group. A bus full of like-minded individuals who are all part-time shepherds and sheep breeding enthusiasts.
Their chairman is Neil MacLeod, a man with a keen eye for the Southern type Cheviot. For him, this event is all about new contacts. Ally Williamson is among the new recruits for Scotsheep. His passion is the Blackface breed, though he's not likely to leave the show with breeding rams valued at between 20 and 40 thousand pounds each!
But one local member certainly improved his luck last time around... Donald John acLeod returned to the village of Tolsta Chaolais with the raffle prize - a gleaming new Quad. Tickets will most certainly be on the Scotsheep event shopping list this year again.
