Cleary Family
Tanya has a unique bond with son Jordan, and thought Australia could offer them a better lifestyle. A year after a trial week in Perth, have they made the move?
Single mum Tanya and her teenage son Jordan share an especially close bond. A year ago, Tanya believed Australia's outdoor lifestyle could improve the quality of life for both her and her wildlife-loving son, who has Asperger syndrome.
The pair spent a trial week in Perth, Western Australia, checking out the property, work and lifestyle opportunities before facing a life-changing decision - whether to stay in the UK or leave loved ones behind and start a new life on the other side of the world? One year on, Nicki Chapman discovers if the pair went ahead and made the move down under.

Our revisit with Tanya and Jordan in Australia was filmed last May. Since then, the pair are continuing to enjoy Australia, and have no plans to return to the UK.
Jordan will be finishing school this year, and keen to work with animals, will be starting a college course to study animal care. He鈥檚 also currently doing work placement at a farm and is looking for a part time job.

Tanya鈥檚 Mum and Dad flew out to visit for an extended holiday in November, which saw everyone hire a campervan and travel North to see dolphins.
