Project Neptune
Fifty years ago the National Trust was on a mission to acquire a substantial part of the our coastline.聽 began here in Wales in 1965, with the acquisition of Whiteford Burrows in the Gower Peninsula. The Trust now manages 710 miles of coastline but with rising sea levels and the effects of climate and change taking their toll the question is how we continue to maintain our coastlines for the future. Rachael Garside visits the area where it all began and hears how the National Trust believe the way forward is to develop new ways of working with nature to manage that coastal change. And the example of that is in the same location with an ambitious project to create that will provide a new habitat for wildlife.
