The Comber Potato Festival kicks off next week from Thursday to Sunday in honour of the much loved Comber Early Potatoes. Although it鈥檚 been an uphill battle to get there because, due to the frost, the potatoes weren鈥檛 so early this year. Anne Marie took a trip to the farm where the Comber Earlies are grown, and Comber Earlies co-operative farmer Richard Orr was determined that her appreciation for this unique potato would improve if she picked them herself.
For more information on the Comber Potato Festival, you can call the Ards Visitor Centre on 028 9182 6846.

Something's brewing at Lacada

Something's brewing at Lacada

Lacada Point on the North Coast of Ireland has a rich history, namely the sinking of the Spanish Armada ship, the Girona, in the 16th century which killed many people and left behind聽hidden treasure. But now there are people around there who are looking towards the future. The Lacada Brewery is a co-operative that will provide new jobs, support tourism and serve local people with lovingly brewed local craft beers. Ronan Lundy went along to have a chat with Director of the Co-Operative Laurie Davies and member Heather Querie.
