Ring of Gullion

Ring of Gullion
We're going back about 600 years - to when the O'Neills of Tyrone were getting big in Armagh, having taken territory away from the anglo-irish of Louth and Meath. They then built Glassdrummond Castle, for the new landowners to rule from. The castle was still used until the mid 1600's, but by the 19th century it was in ruins. It's this story that the Ring of Gullion partnership aim to bring to life and tell in a variety of ways in the next couple of months.

War Years Remembered

History enthusiast David McCallion had an idea - to create a home of War Years Remembered - a vast collection of artefacts and memorabilia from 20th century conflicts, and to bring this kind of history alive to all generations. With a lot of dedication, the exhibition is now open in Ballyclare.
