Cleenish island
Cleenish island (which means 'slanting') is an ancient place just outside Bellanaleck in Fermanagh. At one time, there used to be a monastery, which St Columbanus went to - but next week the focus will be on the lives of soldiers who lived in 11 houses on the island in the 1920's and 30's, who fought in the Great War.
Janet Dowd
Anne Marie’s search for musical talent finds her in the Loughgall direction of County Armagh - with singer/songwriter Janet Dowd. Ahead of Janet's album release, they talk about her work at the Tyrone School of Music, and why Danny Boy remains one of her favourites..
NIPR
Did you know.. Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK not to have its own National Library. Anne Marie chats to Joan Crooks, manager of the National Collection of Northern Ireland Publications who dedicates her work to the preservation of every book, pamphlet, periodical and report published in Northern Ireland since January 2000. Joan wants to encourage us to become familiar with the NIPR and its value in the preservation of our past, present and future.
The Ulster History Circle
The Ulster History Circle hope to emulate a plaque that has recently been unveiled for the ‘First Lady of the Maiden City’ Alexandrina McCausland Stewart. Nuala McAllister from Dungiven, an expert in Stewart’s life and legacy joins Anne Marie on the show.
