Pale-Bellied Brent Geese
Every year thousands of pale-bellied brent geese fly nearly 3000 miles in a death-defying journey from the summer breeding grounds in Canada to Iceland where they rest and feed before heading to Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland. Anne Marie met Dot Bleakley who is a huge fan.听Some have arrived already and a good place to watch them, is the viewing platform at the flood gates just outside Newtownards on the Portaferry Road.
