When Spike Robinson settled in Britain he brought a lyrical and inspirational style to these shores. His legacy is a valuable catalogue of inspiartional recorded work.

Spike Robinson from Wisconsin was an engineer by profession. But his love of jazz soon took over. He was posted to London as a US serviceman in 1948 which was a good move giving him entr茅e to the British jazz scene.
He returned to America after his service but bounced back and made his life here. He brought with him his gifted talent as a fun-loving tenor player. His early death at the age of 71 in 2001 was a great loss, but thankfully he has left us a significant legacy in his recordings. This edition draws on many of these classic dates.
