Contrasting Rarities

Studio 51 became the Ken Colyer club in 1954. A final session in 1972 has now been released. And Wes Montgomery has been rediscovered in some early recordings.

London's famous jazz venue, Studio 51, eventually became the Ken Colyer Club. Before it closed in 1972, the band, with star guest Sammy Rimington, returned for a final recording session.
And modern jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery, in early career, was recorded by jazz enthusiast Carroll de Camp. These sessions are now featured by Resonance Records because of their historic significance.
