Innovative and uplifting music with conductor Gabriella Teychenn茅

Conductor Gabriella Teychenn茅 opens up a colourful selection of music from the inside - revealing familiar and unfamiliar works in a new light.

Conductor Gabriella Teychenn茅 draws together a riveting collection of music spanning dreamy impressionism by Debussy and Ravel, a love duet by Monteverdi and startling sound worlds from Jonny Greenwood.

Gabriella also introduces us to a composer who, despite writing over twenty symphonies, is rarely performed today - Mieczys艂aw Weinberg. Plus we鈥檒l hear from his contemporary Dmitri Shostakovich, with a piece of music that might leave you feeling unsure whether to laugh or cry.

And perhaps appropriately for these difficult days, Gabriella chooses a movement from Haydn鈥檚 Missa in Angustiis (mass in troubled times) and finds that the music brims with determination and optimism.

A series in which each week a musician reveals a selection of music - from the inside.
