Banks, Trains and Eye Make-Up Tips

Complaints about banks are rising at a faster rate than any other sector with reports of long waits to get through to call centres and queues at high street branches.

As companies scrambled to adjust to the economic shock of lockdown, supermarkets and travel firms came in for the heaviest criticism when it came to poor levels of customer service. That peaked in June though and now banks are the sector where the complaints are still coming thick and fast. There are reports of three-hour waits to get through to call centres and queues to get into branches have become a common sight on the high street after banks reduced their opening hours. As we approach six months since lockdown we ask why the finance industry still isn't getting it right when it comes to customer service.

The requirement to wear masks has led to a big spike in sales of all things related to eye makeup. Primark has sold 800,000 sets of false eye lashes since it reopened. And there's a subsequent boom in YouTube videos demonstrating how to make the most of makeup while you're wearing a mask.

And with 拢3.5 billion of Government support and two rail franchises now back in state control the taxpayer has been effectively funding the network since lockdown began. It means that the railways are effectively back in Government hands for the first time since British Rail reached the end of its line some 25 years ago... when privatisation was completed. A big review into the rail franchise system is expected soon. But what will it bring - and will it be out of date?
