Grocery prices, Help to Buy, Second weddings

Will those who had small weddings in 2020 celebrate again when more guests are allowed?

New research for You and Yours suggests that, despite the delays in Kent with freight coming into the UK, shoppers haven't been stockpiling and buying extra groceries over the past few days. The data compiled by the market analysts Edge Ascential also suggests fears over a No-Deal Brexit, are having little impact. Researchers found fewer grocery shortages over the past few weeks, than there were a year ago. Prices are also down by five per cent year on 2019 too, as supermarkets compete harder than ever for our loyalty. We'll speak to those behind the research about what changes have been happening in the grocery sector this year.

The original Help to Buy scheme was launched back in 2013 and offered home buyers a government loan to put towards their deposit. It has helped many first time buyers get on the property ladder - but it was also criticised by those who claimed it subsidised house builders and pushed up the price of new homes. From April, the next phase of the scheme will be open to first-time buyers in England. It's been remodelled introducing regional caps on prices. We'll get reaction from the Home Builders Federation who represent the developers and speak to Which? who did some research about the original scheme.

Will the people who planned big weddings but went ahead with smaller ones this year - just leave it at that, or will they organise second celebrations when they can? A recent survey for the wedding website, confetti.co.uk, found four out of ten couples who got married this year said they were planning to have a bigger wedding later.
We'll speak to two recent brides about that.
