Animation, Orwell and the Laugharne Weekend

Cardiff Animation Festival and the Welsh animator who's up for an Oscar, an arts exhibition inspired by George Orwell, the Creative Lives Awards, and an exciting new literary talent.

On this week’s programme we look forward to the Cardiff Animation Festival with Festival Director Lauren Orme. We also catch the multi-award winning animator Joanna Quinn as she flies out to the Oscars where her film 'Affairs of the Art', featuring much-loved character Beryl, is up for an award.

A new exhibition in Narberth, Room 103, is inspired by Orwellian themes of censorship and oppression - especially relevant given the events unfolding in Russia and Ukraine. Nicola talks to the show’s curator Glenn Ibbitson.

We also hear from the Welsh winners of this year’s Creative Lives Awards and from a remarkable new talent, trans writer Lauren John Joseph, who appears this weekend at the Laugharne Festival.
