Leila Navabi: Funny, Gay and Welsh

23-year-old actor Leila Navabi writes her first ever hour-long comedy show whilst also confronting the reasons why she left home at the age of 17 after being 鈥榦uted鈥� to her parents.

This poignant, warm and often funny film follows 23-year-old Leila Navabi - one of the emerging voices on the Welsh comedy scene - as she revisits the traumatic events in her childhood that caused her to leave home at the age of 17.

At an age when many young people are just starting out on their careers, the star and co-writer of 麻豆官网首页入口 Three sitcom pilot Vandullz and co-presenter of C麻豆官网首页入口鈥檚 Don鈥檛 Blame Me, Blame My Brain has already covered a phenomenal amount of ground. And, in her own words, it鈥檚 because she had to.

Leila confronts painful moments from her past and explores why she chose to run away to London after being outed to her parents as a lesbian. We鈥檒l be with Leila as she recalls a childhood devoid of organisations to help her navigate the most difficult time in her life.

Now, seven years on, she鈥檚 decided to give Wales another chance and has moved back in with her parents, but she鈥檚 not yet convinced that Cardiff can become her 鈥榝orever鈥� home. We鈥檒l follow Leila鈥檚 personal story as she attempts to make up her mind and asks 鈥� is it any easier to grow up gay in Wales than it used to be?
