Barraigh Gu Barcelona/Barra to Barcelona

After helping her dad with the animals on their croft, ten-year-old Alanna quickly swaps Barra island for high-fashion city life.

Tha Barraigh gu Barcelona a’toirt dhuinn sealladh dhan bheatha aig modal òg à Barraigh, a tha a cheart cho toilichte a bhith ag obair air a’chroit ‘s a tha i ag obair air beulaibh a’ chamara airson companaidhean fasain eadar-naiseanta.

Chi sinn na dùbhlain a tha a-lùib, a bhith a’suibhal à Port Adhair Bharraigh, gu bailtean mòra an fhasain san Roinn Eorpa.

Ged nach eil e furasta uaireannan ‘ si a’fuireach air Eilean beag iomalach, chan eil seo a’cuir bacadh air a miann a bhith na rionnag ann an saoghal an fhasain.

Barra to Barcelona gives us an insight into the life of a young model working with international fashion brands, while helping her family on the croft and keeping up with her schoolwork.

We will see the challenges involved in traveling from the only commercial beach airstrip in the world to one of Europe’s centres of fashion.

Whilst showing the challenges involved in living on a tiny island, this fascinating story shows that even living on one of our remotest Hebridean islands doesn’t curtail the exciting opportunities for one young girl.
