Cerys celebrates 50 years of Hip Hop and chats to photographer Eddie Otchere and Associate Professor of Hip Hop A.D Carson as well as hearing from women in Hip Hop around the globe

Cerys celebrates 50 years of Hip Hop and chats to photographer Eddie Otchere. In the mid 1990s and early noughties Eddie photographed seminal rappers and DJs, including portraits of Biggie Smalls, Blackstar (Mos Def & Talib Kweli) So Solid Crew, Est鈥檈lle, Goldie, Omar and many others. Eddie shares memories of the first time he saw Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh on Top of The Pops, how he came to photograph every single member of Wu-Tang Clan and capturing the realities of Lauren Hill's success.

We also learn more about the origins of the genre and how it's evolved from A. D Carson the Associate Professor of Hip Hop and the Global South at the University of Virginia, author and recording artist. Plus Cerys delves into the 麻豆官网首页入口 Archive for the voices of women in Hip Hop around the Globe including, MC Audry Funk on challenging body image expectations in Mexico, Guatemala's Rebeca Lane on hip hop as a form of expression and Amani Yahya from Yemen on facing cultural challenges as a musican.

Expect that all wrapped up with Cerys' usual hand picked eclectic mix each Sunday featuring music from around the globe and across all genres, with Cerys latest discoveries nestled alongside some of her favourite vintage gems.
