A trip to Islay, Queen of the Hebrides.
Willie Hill and Paula McIntyre jump on the ferry for a day and meet the characters that make the island of Islay so special.
Willie Hill and Paula McIntyre take the ferry for a day out on the island of Islay, Queen of the Hebrides. They meet a former Masterchef winner to find out what local produce goes down best, an artist who works with items she finds washed up on the beach and a French lady who visited Islay on holiday a number of years back – only to make it her permanent home. There’s a visit to the local museum and – of course – a few hours making whiskey in one of the island’s many distilleries. All the while – the duo here about the island’s connections to Northern Ireland – a mere 40 miles away!
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
