Writer Ted Willis appears as himself in a five-part drama about how events unfolded in Ekaterinburg in 1918 and what fates befell various members of the Russian Imperial Family. Following a brief meeting at the House of Lords, elderly Viscount Tremayne invites Baron Willis to his remote Cornish home to share his view of events. As dashing Captain Tremayne, he was ordered by King George V and Prime Minister, Lloyd George, and to secure safe passage for Tsar Nicholas II and his family as revolution swept through Russia. Jeremy Clyde and Maurice Denham star as the young and old Tremayne.
