Nordic Music Days: Isabelle Faust and the RSNO

A celebration of music new and old from Scotland and Nordic countries, including Sibelius Symphony No 7 and music by Errollyn Wallen, Rune Glerup and Aileen Sweeney.

As part of Nordic Music Days festival held in Scotland for the first time in 136 years, one of the world's leading violinists Isabelle Faust joins the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Music Director Thomas Sondergard. The North Sea and an evening with birds are conjured in Rune Glerup’s work About Light and Lightness. Glerup says ‘my violin concerto would never have been written if I had not met Isabelle Faust’. After the interval, the extraordinary energy of Sibelius Symphony No 7 alongside music by Aileen Sweeney and Errollyn Wallen. Recorded in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
