Home defence

Rattlesnakes haunt the prairie dog towns, on the lookout for youngsters, but the short grass makes it easy for the prairie dog sentinels to spot approaching danger. What to do about it is another question. Bolting down a burrow is no defence against a rattlesnake as they'll just follow. Retreat is the only option whilst whistling a loud, squeaking warning to the neighbours.
