Wed 30th June. Wiltshire couple both fined for their car running a red light.
Morning music and chat.
It's one of those moral questions. The family car runs a red light; you don't know about it until you get a letter telling you that you've got a fine and points, but you don't know who was driving. This morning Matthew spoke to a Marlborough couple who admitted to a court that they did not know and both ended up with six points and fines and costs totally more than one thousand pounds.
Wiltshire Council's been criticised by its auditors for the state of its accounts. Fifty recommendations have been made. Council leader Jane Scott told Matthew she thinks that the situation is improving.
Two hundred Wiltshire soldiers have become the first people in four decades to be given the Freedom of Malmesbury. It has been given to 9 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps who've just returned from Afghanistan. We reported from the march that happened on Tuesday.
