Anything goes

Close to the Arctic circle the sun barely sets in the summer. Luckily the eagle owl hunts just as well at twilight as in the dark and is able to catch a rabbit. Two of its chicks have been taken, possibly by foxes. When the owl returns, the surviving chick is still eating its last meal, the remains of a short-eared owl. Not having to share the food with any siblings, the chick has grown fast and is starting to develop feathers. The chick even swallows the tail of a red squirrel.
