The Musk Ox
Professor Richard Fortey visits the freezing Tundra in Northen Norway. The word Tundra comes from the russian meaning treeless mountains. Great herds of Mammoth as well as Rhinoceroces lived in similar habitats. They have long gone but one species of Ice Age megafauna adapted and learnt to cope with the cold conditions. In this bleak and barren landscape where the snows still lies for months on at a time, it takes a very special creature to survive: it's the Musk Ox.
