Environmental issues in Poland

Since joining the European Community in 2004, Poland鈥檚 economic development has had to take account of EC environmental policy. In that regard Poland鈥檚 reliance on coal to supply its power grid is unsustainable and this argument is put forcefully by a journalist speaking against the backdrop of the massive coal-fired power plant at Belchatow. An alternative point of view is given by a mine foreman 830 metres down a coal mine at Pni贸wek.
