Ecuador has spent $280m restoring its railway network which over the years has fallen into disrepair and disuse.
Rajan Datar stepped aboard one of the most popular lines for tourists dubbed as the world's most difficult train ride.
From the town of Alausi the line has to climb a near veritcal wall of rock known as The Devil's Nose offering the traveller some spectacular views.
