From Essex to Ecuador - the British woman who married a rainforest tribal leader
While on holiday in Ecuador British woman Mari Muench met rainforest tribal leader Patricio Jipa and two fell in love.
Now they are married and have a child and Mari has settled down to life in Sani, a land of forests, creeks and lagoons where they run an eco-tourism lodge.
Rajan Datar went to meet the couple and heard how Mari has joined her husband's fight against the oil industry which wants access to the land to tap into the tonnes of reserves below the rainforest.
