UKIP’s Suzanne Evans: Farage is a ‘political hero’
UKIP’s Deputy Chairman Suzanne Evans has denied plotting against party leader Nigel Farage.
UKIP has had a turbulent time since the election, with the party’s economic spokesman Patrick O'Flynn apologising and resigning from his post after calling Mr Farage "snarling, thin-skinned and aggressive".
Ms Evans is also no longer in her post as the party’s head of policy but insisted that this was the result of the ending of a contract, rather than a reaction to any briefing against her leader.
“The only person who has plotted against Nigel Farage’s leadership is Nigel Farage himself, by offering to resign if he didn’t win his Westminster seat”, she said.
