Petition to honour Falklands soldier
Corporal Stewart McLaughlin of the 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment was just 27 when he was killed in action during the Falklands War. Commanding officers recommended him for a gallantry medal for his heroism but that citation was lost. Despite an appeal the government decided not to award an honour and Corporal McLaughlin's family and former comrades have since campaigned for the decision to be overturned. Joanna Gosling , standing in for Victoria Derbyshire, spoke to Stewart's brother Mark and Grant Grinham, who served with Stewart in the Falklands.
