'We're losing an elephant every 15 minutes'
A hunter is understood to have paid thousands of dollars to shoot and kill one of Zimbabwe's biggest elephants.
The country's Conservation Task Force told the 麻豆官网首页入口 the hunt was lawful but unethical.
It described the elephant, which was 60-years-old as majestic, with tusks so large they touched the ground.
It comes days after rangers in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park discovered the carcasses of 26 elephants at two locations.
It is thought they were poisoned with cyanide and that 14 tusks were removed from the elephants.
Victoria Derbyshire programme presenter Jane Hill spoke to Dominic Dyer from Action for Elephants UK and the Born Free Foundation as well as Resson Kantai Duff from Save the Elephants.
Mr Dyer said: "An elephant is being killed every 15 minutes to poachers ... we cannot afford to be killing these animals through poaching or legal means."
